I’m a real hound for weather and weather facts. Recently I was looking up a forecast for a week up north. Noticed on the sidebar of the website a highs and lows on this date. I found it interesting that the low was -4C, not that unrealistic for a slightly inland location at the beginning of October. More entertaining was the high of the day 27C in 1951. We’ve been schooled by the media that temperature extremes are a recent even. I suspect that we can find anomalies in temperature all the time, particularly when the seasons are changing. I wonder if statistical filler in the media feeds, might be blinding us into thinking that the seasonal normals and daily normals are real values. Were as things just aren’t that predictable.
